HHS Corner: A Successful MAHA Tour!
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., embarked on a multi-state tour from April 7 through April 9 to celebrate MAHA initiatives in the Southwest. He’s made much progress highlighting great forward movement towards MAHA, and we were there to capture them all!
We started in Utah, where Secretary Kennedy supported the first-in-the-country ban on fluoride in public drinking water, stating, “I am very happy that Utah has taken the lead in so many ways in one of the first states in the country to restrict cell phone use in schools. They’ve now cleaned the chemical additives out of the school lunch program, they’ve applied for a SNAP waiver to get rid of sodas on SNAP, which I know Brooke Rollins is about to sign, and they’ve led the nation in banning fluoride.” You can watch the entire press conference on the MAHA X Account!
Secretary Kennedy also headed to Native Health in Arizona, where we saw how a health system that cares about health care and not sick care has been using food as medicine! Make sure to watch this clip- it's fantastic.
While still in Arizona, Secretary Kennedy sat down for a press conference discussing the MAHA bills in front of the state legislature. He had some great things to say about why we need to remove soda from the SNAP program. “I want to challenge the press. If you find a legislator or political leader in this state, go out and find one after this meeting who did not support the SNAP waiver legislation. Ask them why. Get them to offer you a rational explanation. I guarantee you they will not come up with one. Why are we paying for sugar drinks that are poisoning our kids and giving them diabetes? You know, if you want a coke, God bless you, go get one. But the taxpayer should not be paying that in a nutrition program. This is supplemental nutrition. There are no nutrients in that soda - there are none…We’re going to pay for it twice. We are going to pay for it now, and then we are going to pay for it with the diabetes bills.” The crowd erupted in applause. The MAHA message is blanketing the nation! All Eyes On Georgia (and other states with pesticide bills):
MAHA is laser-focused on Georgia, and you should be, too. We are working HARD to get Governor Kemp to VETO the bill that he has on his desk right now. This bill would grant liability protection to Bayer Monsanto, and other companies like it - and make it impossible for people harmed by dangerous pesticides to sue the behemoth companies.
The bill, SB144, is only one of many being considered in state legislatures nationwide. Some have been defeated, and others still need action. The bill was passed fresh on the heels of a Jury verdict against Bayer Monsanto in Georgia that granted an award of $2 billion (yes, with a “B”) dollars to a Plaintiff who argued that the pesticide Roundup caused his cancer. These bills aim to protect large corporations who are damaging your health, and we need you to get active!
Because of your voices, similar bills have failed so far in Idaho, Iowa, Oklahoma, Montana, Mississippi, and Wyoming. But we need you active! If you live in Florida (HB129/SB992), Tennessee (HB809), Georgia, or North Dakota (HB 1318), you need to get active! Make calls! Write letters! Utilize our tools on the legislative page for guidance and easy ways to contact!
To raise awareness, MAHA sponsored a press conference featuring Del Bigtree, CEO of MAHA, Kelly Ryerson from American Regeneration, and regenerative farmer Will Harris. The event generated much-needed coverage as we work to stop these bills. Please watch the entire event here.
MAHA Bills to Watch:
Here are some bills we want you to watch and get engaged with! MAHA needs you to step up in your state and fight right alongside us:
Alabama -
SB85: VERDICT: MAHA SUPPORTS
This bill expands religious vaccination exemptions in Alabama's K-12 schools and public universities. For K-12 schools, parents can submit a written exemption without needing to explain or get approval, simply stating the vaccination conflicts with their religious beliefs. For public colleges and universities, students can claim a religious exemption with a written statement and a medical exemption with certification from a healthcare provider. The bill simplifies the exemption process and takes effect on October 1, 2025, offering more flexibility for those objecting to vaccinations on religious grounds.
The MAHA “Why?” - MAHA supports this bill as it expands religious exemptions for vaccinations in Alabama's K-12 schools and public universities, offering greater flexibility for individuals objecting to vaccinations on religious grounds. The bill simplifies the exemption process, ensuring that parents and students can exercise their religious freedoms without undue barriers.
Louisiana -
SB117: VERDICT: MAHA SUPPORTS
This bill prohibits public schools participating in federally funded meal programs from serving or selling ultra-processed foods during regular school days starting in the 2026-2027 school year. The legislation defines ultra-processed food as any food or beverage containing specific ingredients like artificial dyes (Blue dye 1 and 2, Green dye 3, Red dye 3 and 40, Yellow dye 5 and 6), certain oils (cottonseed, grapeseed, safflower), and additives such as aspartame, brominated vegetable oil, potassium bromate, propylparaben, and titanium dioxide. The bill's rationale stems from concerns about childhood obesity and nutrition, asserting that industrially manufactured, nutrient-depleted foods with synthetic additives are harmful to minors' health. While schools are prohibited from serving these foods, parents can still provide ultra-processed foods to their children. The state Department of Education must create a standardized certification form for schools to confirm compliance and maintain a public list of schools adhering to these nutritional guidelines. The act will become effective upon the governor's signature or through constitutional provisions for bill enactment.
The MAHA “Why?” MAHA supports this bill as it aims to improve the nutritional standards of meals served in public schools by eliminating ultra-processed foods, which have been linked to various health concerns such as childhood obesity and poor nutrition. By targeting foods with harmful additives and artificial dyes, the bill takes a proactive approach to ensure healthier options for students while allowing parents to provide their children with alternative food choices. This legislation aligns with efforts to foster better nutrition and long-term health outcomes for young people, positively impacting public health.

🚨 THE MAHA PODCAST:
You Can’t Miss This Episode Of The MAHA Podcast:
When Dr. Sabine Hazan discovered that a fecal transplant helped a man with Alzheimer’s regain his memory, she realized what few dare to say:
The future of medicine lives in the gut.
In this stunning new episode of The MAHA Podcast, Del Bigtree interviews Dr. Hazan, a former pharmaceutical researcher turned whistleblower, about the microbiome, medical censorship, and how restoring gut health could be the key to reversing chronic disease.
"Less than 5% of stool samples today have bifidobacteria. Humanity is going extinct. That’s not a theory. That’s data."
Dr. Hazan reveals what mainstream medicine refuses to confront:
➜ Why fecal transplants may hold the key to treating Alzheimer’s, autism, and even cancer.
➜ What we’ve lost in gut diversity—and how that loss is destroying immunity.
➜ How the FDA blocked her COVID protocols and tried to bury her research.
➜ The medical gaslighting that punishes doctors for telling the truth.
➜ Why autism may be a gut issue—not just a neurological one.
This conversation will challenge everything you think you know about health, medicine, and the future of healing. Click here to watch the full interview with Dr. Sabine Hazan.
