Rising Healthcare Costs

Healthcare costs in this country are out of control and are driven by the chronic disease epidemic—an epidemic we believe can be lessened with root cause healing and a return to nutritious food—grown (and grazing) on healthy American soil, among other solutions. Of the 4.5 trillion dollars of healthcare spending in America, a whopping 90 percent of that is spent on chronic diseases. To put that in perspective, it represents a little over 18% of the US GDP. That is a staggering (and preventable) number!

Adding to the issue, medical debt is the leading cause of bankruptcy in the United States, with at least 41% of Americans in some kind of financial trouble due to their health. There is a dire need to lessen the load; the answer lies with health care, not sick care.

It is a never-ending circle—a bad diet (among other things) leads to chronic illness, trips to the doctor, prescriptions, which leads to side effects, and the wheel just keeps turning. We can stem healthcare costs by focusing on wellness and making that a priority rather than feeding the endless circle of illness.

By shifting our focus from reactive sick care to proactive health care, we have the power to break this cycle and reduce the immense burden of chronic disease on both individuals and the economy. Investing in root cause healing, prioritizing nutrient-dense foods, and restoring the health of our soil are not just idealistic solutions—they are necessary steps toward a sustainable and more affordable healthcare system. The time to act is now. Our future depends on a healthcare model that empowers wellness rather than merely managing sickness.
