OUR FOCUS###MAHA Action is focused on driving positive change around five core issues that shape the health, well-being, and prosperity of all Americans.

  • Cleaning Up Our Food

    Answer

A clean, safe, and transparent food industry

All Americans deserve access to clean, organic, healthy food for our families and children. Major food companies need to take accountability and responsibility for the ingredients that they put in our food and how they market their products to consumers. Together we can lead the transition to a healthier food system that prioritizes the long-term health of Americans.

  • Accountability For Pharmaceutical Companies

    Answer

Increased transparency and accountability for pharmaceutical companies

This crisis is the product of broken incentives. There is nothing more profitable for much of the healthcare system than a sick child. Americans with chronic conditions are often put on medications or treatments for the rest of their lives. Reforms across the pharmaceutical industry need to be made, such as reforming the Prescription Drug User Fee Act. Pharmaceutical companies pay a fee every time they apply for a new drug approval, and this money makes up about 75% of the budget of the Food and Drug Administration’s drug division. That creates a barrier to entry to smaller firms and puts bureaucrats’ purse strings in the hands of the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Restoring Honesty And Integrity In Government

    Answer

Restoring honesty and integrity in government

Trust in the government is at an all-time low. Americans deserve transparency and honesty in our government. In the spirit of transparency and democracy, releasing the full, unredacted records related to the JFK assassination is the first step that the government can take towards restoring that trust.

  • Cleaning Up Our Air, Soil, and Water

    Answer

    Healthy air, soil, and water

The nation’s air, soil and water must be protected and transformed to ensure the long-term health of our people and the planet. We need to revisit pesticide and other chemical-use standards. We also allow chemicals in food and skin care that the bloc doesn’t.
Toxins in our environment are contributing to the greatest decline in public health that America has ever faced, and must be reversed to protect the health of our families and children.

  • A Medical System Designed To Heal

    Answer

Preventative, alternative, and holistic approaches to health

More of the research budgets from the NIH should go toward preventive, alternative and holistic approaches to health. In the current system, researchers don’t have enough incentive to study generic drugs and root-cause therapies that look at things like diet. Together we can create a medical system that is designed to heal, rather than prescribe.
